Is having a new baby not what you expected? Is your baby crying and unsettled and you don’t know what to do?
Have you or your partner recently had a baby, and you are feeling a bit overwhelmed? Not sure where to turn for advice and support?
Come along to our friendly and relaxed 2 hour workshop. We can support you and help you understand your baby’s:
We will also discuss
- calming and soothing techniques
- general baby care
- tips for new parents to help you relax and enjoy this time
The fourth trimester (the first 12 weeks of your baby’s life) can be a difficult time, as your baby adjusts to life on the outside, and you adjust to this new addition to your family. Babies are commonly unsettled, suffer from colic, and have very erratic sleep patterns. This can be a lot to deal with, especially if you are recovering from a difficult birth or need time to recover. Even if this isn’t your first baby, they may behave very differently to how you expect, and you shouldn’t feel bad if this doesn’t all come naturally to you. Many parents don’t feel an instant bond with their new baby, and this workshop can help you understand your baby better and hopefully start to build that bond.
We can also advise you on where to go for additional help and support on feeding issues, tongue tie, using a baby carrier, and physical issues you might be experiencing post-birth.
You will be able to meet other new parents at the same stage as you.
This workshop is aimed at parents of babies up to 12 weeks old.
Suitable for single parents, or both parents together. Bring your baby!
Workshops will run approximately once a term on a Saturday or Sunday, at the Suffolk Babies Centre, Kesgrave. The cost is just £10, to cover our costs, as we want this to be as accessible as possible to anyone who feels they need to come along.
Refreshments will be provided, and we have baby changing facilities at the centre.
