Ipswich and Colchester Sling Library are a great resource for anyone interested in carrying your baby in a sling. The library volunteers and peer supporters will help guide you through the different options to find the one that is best for you and your family.
What happens at a sling library meet?
Monthly sling meets are open to all whether expecting a baby and looking in to your options, new to babywearing and looking for the right carrier for you and your baby or currently babywearing and looking to meet like minded people. Our meetings are very friendly and we pride ourselves in making you feel comfortable and at ease. You can pop in and chat to us, try different carriers, and hire a sling.
How much does it cost?
Sling meets are free to attend, but there is a small charge for hiring a sling. We are a non-profit organisation, and all fees go towards providing the best carriers for the library.
We have an annual membership of £5 and then charge £8-£12 per month to hire each carrier (depending on the carrier). We do ask that you do not rehire the same carrier more than 3 times consecutively.
When are the Suffolk Babies meets?
Ipswich and Colchester Sling Library will be at the Suffolk Babies Centre in Kesgrave on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month, from 12:30 – 2:30.
Ipswich and Colchester Sling Library was founded in March 2014 by Katherine.
Katherine has now completed a babywearing consultant course with Slingababy and offers 1 to 1 consultations as well as being present at monthly sling library meets. The rest of the team are qualified Peer Supporters and have a vast range of experience.
Through the Library we hope to be able to guide parents through the many options of baby carriers and slings available to find the one that best suits them and their family
